The event, organized by the Hungarian Hydrogen Technology Association since 2023, has grown into the leading hydrogen and biogas expo in the region after three successful years and will be held in 2026 with a new location and an expanded program.
The secret of the success of HYDROGEN OPEN is that the preparations for the hydrogen technology developments in Central and Eastern Europe, the projects that will define the coming decades, are taking place in these years. Naturally, there is great interest in a professional event where supply and demand, the latest developments and start-up investments meet.
The Clean Hydrogen Partnership, a joint organization of the European Union and Hydrogen Europe, has recognized the opportunity, as the organization’s CEO Valerie Bouillon-Delporte has already announced that she will hold the social consultation of their 2026 call for proposals at the Hydrogen Open Budapest event, as she did this year.
The announcement comes as the three-day, high-level forum brings together nearly 500 domestic and international conference participants, as well as more than 100 technology experts from government, industry and academia. The event is expected to feature Dale Nally, Minister of the Government of Alberta, Canada, as well as several leading Canadian technology companies and their leaders.
The summits, which feature speakers from policymakers and key industry leaders from Central and Eastern European countries, provide a platform for the highest-level discussion of key issues, so that developers of hydrogen and energy solutions can understand the impact of the latest policies to ensure the most effective use of successful projects.
Another reason for the huge professional interest is the well-chosen location and the ever-growing range of business opportunities, as the HYDROGÉN OPEN conference is held simultaneously with the AGROMASHEXPO event, which is taking place at the same time at Hungexpo, and whose participants are open to renewable and green solutions and developments.
For which the conference is preparing with targeted programs, as participants will have access to the latest political developments, market knowledge and business opportunities in the hydrogen and biogas sector – with particular attention to hydrogen valleys, agri-tech innovations, energy regulation and green production solutions.
