Europe has published its <a href=\"https:\/\/hydrogeneurope.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/H2Europe_RED-III_Position-Paper.pdf\">position paper on\u00a0Renewable Energy Directive (RED III)<\/a>, the\u00a0piece of legislation that\u00a0aims to create a favourable regulatory and investment environment for the deployment of renewable energy sources which entered into force in November 2023, amending the previous RED II.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-5f71341 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default wpr-particle-no class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Member States have until 21 May 2025 to transpose the directive into national law and decide how to achieve the RFNBO target in industry. They may impose obligations on hydrogen users or introduce national mechanisms to incentivise investments across sectors. Each option has pros and cons, including investment attractiveness, industry competitiveness, market development, and regulatory complexity. This <strong>paper summarises the main transposition options and outlines the enabling conditions for successful RFNBO uptake in industry and achieving renewable energy targets. <\/strong><\/p><p>Whichever strategy Member States adopt, there are certain <strong>enabling conditions<\/strong> which are essential\u00a0for the successful RFNBO roll-out, including:<\/p><ul><li>a predictable regulatory framework,<\/li><li>a robust\u00a0infrastructure development,<\/li><li>adequate funding support,<\/li><li>a transparent and compatible certification\u00a0framework, and<\/li><li>initiatives for renewable product labelling.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>The successful implementation of REDIII targets requires a coordinated effort between Member States, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies and dedicated attention to the enabling conditions that make the industry thrive, promoting sustainability and competitiveness within the European
