\n With the strategic-level recommendation of the Association, Hungary already in the summer of 2021
\npublished its own national hydrogen strategy, which aims to
\nencourage the development of the hydrogen economy and to ensure our country's active
\nrole in the introduction of hydrogen technology in Europe <\/p>\n
Hungary's
\n National Hydrogen Strategy, outlining an ambitious yet realistic vision,
\npaves the way for building a hydrogen economy, thereby contributing
\nto the achievement of decarbonisation goals and creating the opportunity
\nfor Hungary to become an active player in the European
\nhydrogen space. In the long term, the Strategy places \u201cgreen\u201d hydrogen
\nin focus, but in addition to hydrogen based on electricity generated from renewable sources, primarily solar energy,
\nHungary also does not ignore the possibilities of hydrogen production
\nbased on nuclear power and on carbon-free electricity drawn
\nfrom the grid.
\nFurthermore, for the rapid reduction of emissions and the creation of a viable
\nhydrogen market, low-carbon hydrogen will also be needed
\nin the short and medium term. <\/p>\n
\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
KEY MEASURES <\/p>\n
1)
\n Within the framework of encouraging the development of large-volume, centralised production
\nmethods meeting local industrial demand, the transformation of existing
\nhydrogen production methods will begin in order to significantly reduce
\n their carbon footprint. With regard to carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology
\nrelated to hydrogen production, an
\nencouraging regulatory environment and support system will also
\nbe created. <\/p>\n
2)
\n Encouraging decentralised, carbon-free hydrogen production methods that meet
\ndispersed, small and medium-scale transport and energy demand. <\/p>\n
3) Establishing electrolysis centres to launch production pilots based on photovoltaics (PV) and the electricity grid mix. <\/p>\n
4) Establishing a European system of Guarantees of Origin for different types of hydrogen. <\/p>\n
5)
\n Monitoring the development of new production technologies and developing international
\ncooperation in order to apply market-ready solutions in Hungary
\nas soon as possible. <\/p>\n
