Hydrogen technology With the strategic level recommendation of Hungary already in the summer of 2021 published its own national hydrogen strategy, which aims to encourage the development of the hydrogen economy and ensure that our country is active role in the introduction of European hydrogen technology  Hungary Its National Hydrogen Strategy outlines an ambitious but realistic vision of the future paves the way for the development of the hydrogen economy by contributing thereby achieving the decarbonization goals and creating the opportunity also for Hungary to become an active player in Europe for hydrogen space. In the long term, the Strategy places “green” hydrogen a focus, but produced from renewable sources, primarily solar energy in addition to hydrogen based on electricity on a nuclear basis, or based on carbon-free electricity purchased from the grid Hungary does not ignore the possibilities of hydrogen production either. In addition, the rapid reduction of emissions and a viable to create a hydrogen market that is low carbon in the short and medium term hydrogen will also be needed.

PRIORITY MEASURES

1)As part of promoting the establishment of centralized production methods that satisfy local industrial demand on a large scale, the transformation of the existing hydrogen production method has begun with the goal of significantly reducing its carbon footprint. In relation to carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies associated with hydrogen production, the development of incentive regulatory and support systems is also underway.

2) Encouraging decentralized carbon-free hydrogen production methods that meet scattered small- and medium-scale transportation and energy needs.

3) Establishment of electrolysis centers and launching production pilots based on photovoltaic (PV) and electric grid mix for the purpose of producing electricity.

4) Creation of a European system for guarantees of origin for different types of hydrogen.

5) Tracking the development of new production technologies, developing international collaborations to enable the prompt domestic implementation of mature solutions in the market.
