Hydrogen electric boat
The Hungarian-developed hydrogen-powered electric boat launched at the Balaton Boat Show has a quiet operation, high efficiency, extended range, and cost-effective operation.
The electricity generated by the electrochemical combustion of hydrogen powers the engine, and the only by-product produced is pure water.
According to the information of Kontakt-Elektro Kft., the ship siplayed in Balatonkenese weighs 950 kg, is 6.2 m long, 2.1 m wide, and 0.5 m deep. It can carry 7 + 1 people on board, with a maximum speed of 22 km/h. The fuel cell has a capacity of 15 kW and a lifespan of 20,000 hours. The ship stores 2.88 kg of hydrogen, which supplies 46 kW hours of electricity. Driven at full throttle, it can cover about 66 km in 3 h, but this power can be increased by reducing power.
